    hi, i was wondering what the best led unit would be at a cheap price. i dont mind a diy and it needs to be dimmable. i have a 3 ft 30 gallon tank. i have mainly sps so it needs to strong. is there anything that would be good for me?

    Agreed, rapidled is a great DIY project. There are tons of build threads on here. You will want to do some research as you can mix and match blues/whites and even add some reds/greens now.

    With rapidled you buy each led, add it to a heat sink, wire it(which requires soldering), add a driver/dimmer and that's it! Pretty cool.

    sorry for so many posts in a row, but i have a few more questions. it seems there are no 36" heatsinks, what should i do? i have no clue what ratio i should do. im not sure if i want red or anything because wouldnt i need another driver? this is going to be a slow build so theres not going to be huge changes every month. what should i do for a mainly sps tank? i dont want to bleach any corals either so i cant have too much light. it sounds like thats sometimes a problem.

    Well, I'm bidding on the 120w dimmable led. I went to another forum and they all said its a great fixture. I'll do a review of it once it is broken in.
