    Has any one have problems with getting live rocks and having unwanted species?

    still new to the hobby need help finding what these things are if their hazardous

    THe things with tentacles looks like an aiptasia to me.

    I don't know about the crab, can't see very well on the pic. Try using the macro feature of your camera.

    Second pic is Aiptasia anemone. Bad for your tank. Try to get rid of them before it spreads.

    what do i need to buy to get rid of them? lady at a LFS told me to buy a peppermint shrimp to get rid of the aiptasia but the shrimp not eating.
    is there a way to get rid of all them or do i have to get new rocks

    thanks for the feed back. very usefully link. if i was were to buy dry rocks do i need to cycle in a smaller tank?

    Give the shrimp some time, if its an Appy it will.

    As for the crab kinda looks like a Emerald to me but look at the claws,
    if they are sharp and pointy at the ends = BAD, if rounded at the ends = Good

    How old is your tank? Did it already cycle?

    i second emerald but im not sure. look it up in google and see if thats what it looks like.

    if it is then i think its a good hitchiker.

    you can kill the aipstasia by injecting it with boiling water.

    tank is a month old not sure if it cycled

    how do i inject it with boiling water?
