yeah, but the op wants to be able to flip on some lights to show progress. Thats why i reccomended just a simple flourescent fixture even over a t5. save a couple bucks that way imo

To fast eevn for me to response. I see what you guys are saying. I do not have any corals yet. I want to enjoy this tank as much as possible and learn as much as I can. Like I said on my tantrum post, there's no clubs around my area and just one LFS. They are very helpful but there's only so many questions I can ask there. I like the idea on using just regular florecent lights to get me going untill I take the big leap. Right now I'm relaying on my LED flash light everytime I have to do something related to my tank.

Sounds like me when I first started out...didn't know anyone else in the hobby...didn't have any LFS unless I wanted to drive 30 minutes away.

I'm glad I don't have to drive that much. My LFS is great. They got lots of nice things and keep stuff coming all the time. A lot of knowledge there but like I said, theres only so much I can squezze out of there heads. Specially for the DIY route I want to take.

I should get just a 24in regular florecent from the orange box or Lowes?
