(you can never be quite sure what you are going to get...)

Bought a "sickly"/"stressed out" "hammer" coral at LFS (on the cheap) hoping I might be able to coax it back to health...

no such luck...remaining "hammer" bubbles disappeared after a couple of days... :-[

But I noticed two tiny xenia "sprouts" on the "skeleton" of the coral just starting up so left in tank.

After about 3 months look what they have grown into...this stuff grows like gang-busters - can see why some say it can quickly get to "nuisance" levels...

I must have, by chance, placed it in almost perfect position in tank... :p

Love to watch those "pulsing" "mouths" waving in the current. ;)

AND...did not notice, initially, has a small colony of barnacles on it that are thriving nicely...too hard to see in pic...but very, very pretty to watch feed under magnifing glass...long, curved, delicate "tonges" flicking in and out when feeding...

Wonder about their "spreading" capabilty...?? :-/

Anyway...for >$10 am really happy with what I came up with.
