    I've never had one last longer than 8 months. I might be starving them though, so i only ever bought 2.

    I just found mine toe up after 2 months of ownership.. was moving some rock around soooo i'm not sure if it was natural or I squished him.. didn't seem to be any physical damage though.. what do they eat anyway? I've never fed him anything specific so I'm wondering if i possibly starved him?

    They eat almost anything. I've had mine 6 months and he was already large when I bought him.

    With my Emerald crabs and well all my Crab inverts.. I drop in a few wardley's shrimp pellets at night every once and 3 days, and they all come screeming out of he rocks to feed.. and gives me a guesstimation on how many i have left...

    Just a idea or well my 2 cents...

    Same as the rest here, about 6-8 months. One grew some and was pretty large but I never saw one molt from any of the 3 I had. I added all 3 together and all lasted the 6-8 months and each died within a week or two of each other. All 3 were different sizes.
