I have a 55 gallon tank sitting empty. The center brace is broken. I have no intention of fixing it. Just curious if it would be safe to put 4-6" of water in there or do I still risk the chance of the tank bowing? I have done newts I'd like to upgrade their home.

And, sounds like an easy fix if you can get some plastic pieces top and bottom, glued with Epoxy and held overnight with some C clamps.

If it's right up against the side, that would be more difficult, maybe not doable.

Agree with the 6" of water too- no problem.

Lol I kinda jumped the gun and was impatient. I posted two threads, never saw the screen saying it needed to be approved haha oops. Anyway. The break is right up against the side and part of the rim itself is broken off. Thanks guys, i figured it would be ok with just a little water. Just wanted a second opinion from my 3reef peeps.
