Also, and please forgive me for asking in which I'm sure is an idiot question. The diff between 40 and 60 degrees? Also, insight on bulb selection. Royal blue, verses all white combo etc.

I went with boostled 3 royal blue, 2 cool white 60 degrees. I have my corals in the center of my 55 gallon and put 2 par 30s so far (cant afford 2 more yet). My arcopora frag is doing fine on the bottem of the tank with both shinning on it.

40 degrees will hit a smaller area and are mainly used for deeper tanks.
60 degrees will do well in a 12x12 area which is why you would need 4. Assuming your corals are spread out.

Colors are out of my experience. I just like the royal blue and cool white shimmer.

Ill show you a picture of it in the morning when my tank is on, if i remember

Looks like for $300 (plus tax and shipping) I can get 4 of the Boost Par30 bulbs. Looks to be the most affordable setup I have found for a 55 gallon at this point...

Looks good and thanks for the video. It looks like 5 may be needed for full tank coverage. Hmmmm.....

the problem with the DIY is the look of the units. the heat sink, wires etc. if there is an affordable kit that looks sharp when finished I am down. But is there?

I don't know, i think the black heatsinks at rapid look cool, and almost all the wires will be hidden behind the tank or somewhere! look up some of the build threads! and show your tank threads!

yeah I will dig in. The wires are the wires that connect bulbs. I want a clean surface with only bulbs exposed. Unless the price is right and the heat sink looks good and all black helps.
