Hello all, I have a 75 gallon tank about 6 months old and I would like to start adding coral. Coral that only needs light and dont have to be fed. I would like to upgrade my lighting for this particular reason but at the same time I dont want to make my electric bill go sky high. So I had a thought. LED lighting. Would this kit be powerful enough to keep corals? Marineland - LED Double Bright Light, 36" - 48"

If that particular unit is not powerful enough What do you guys recommend? Im not intrested in the DIY route

I was curious in the anemone but I heard they need to be fed. I need to do my research for what corals I am going to start off with first. But I want to make sure I get the proper lighting now so I dont have to worry about it later.

I don't think that light would support a anemone only very low light corals, and yes they need to be feed.

most leds for high light stuff will be pretty expensive for that tank size.

It's hard for me to give a good recommendation that a nice price, LED fixtures are still very new and untested, thats why alot of people do DIY.

    honestly I would recommend T5HO.

although you could get. 2 of these but it wouldn't save you anymore then t5 electricity wise.

or you could get 6 or 8 of led screw bulbs, you would have to find a way to mount them. there are a bunch of different brands and kinds of them.

    Ecoxotic PAR38 LED Aquarium Lamp

I could give you some other recommendations about fixtures that would better fit your needs but they are above $1000.
