Killer Conch?

    HI,
    I was feeding my saltwater fish this am, and was watching all the activity, noticed a few small hermits have new shells and thought they are killing snails for shells.
    Then I a saw my small Conch slip up on a smaller snail pick it up off the sand roll it over and completely cover the opening of its shell with with its body, Did I witness a feeding or a suffication of the compitition by the larger snail.:eek:

    There are lots of predatory conch like/looking snails that prey on other snails.
