Kenya Tree Brown Slime?

    hello...one of my kenya tree corals branches had this brown slime...so i cut it off not a small branch is getting it...what causes this and how do i get rid of it...also i think the stub of the one i cut off might be getting it...r there any meds!??!?!?!?!

    It could just be a natural slime that most soft corals produce. Soft corals use this slime as chemical warfare with other types of coral. Is it close to another coral it could be waring with? also they can slime when going through a growth cycle.

    um i dont think so...the one that i cut off when i blew the slime away there was only the inside of the coral...like all the polyps r gone...it just did bud off...naturally a nice daughter colony but i dont think it is a slime coat...:(

    um ya but its kinda old...can u just cut off the one with the problem after closer inspection the other one that i did cut does not have it...so any way what causes it?

    another branch got it...i cut it off...as of now i have put direct water flow via ph to it...keep you posted!

    hmm...well when they slough does it turn brown and the tissue underneith it get all dead?...i didnt even think kenya trees did that? lol gimme more info
