To me that looks like fire coral that was growing close to the to of the water, or maybe even getting exposed durring low tide. If it is, be carefull with it, it can burn you and is a protected species, (though I dont know why) and can kill other corals.

Everything is better with any kind of bacon or ham for that matter, I also love pie, beer, and donuts and Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies. (I'm eating a bbq bacon cheese burger as I post this)
