just started a frag tank any advice?

    hello everyone i just started my first fram tank its a twenty long i have compact florsent lights 96 watt 12500 k bulbs and a top filter nothing special any advice on how to get started??????i do have it shelved with egg crate and pvc...... thanks in advance!

    What type of corals are you planing on growing out?

    Have you used products or live rock to cycle the tank?

    What do you currently have for flow?

    Got a skimmer?

    no skimmer yet i used water from my 92 bowfront has been running for 2 years only flow from top filter filter has bio wheels in it

    Personally I think you will want more flow. A koralia #2-#4 would be good. If you have money to burn on an mp10, that is what I would use.

    IMO corals grow faster if you have decent flow to remove waste, provide O2 and bring nutrition.

    If you live in a temperate climate you will need a heater as well. A 20 gallon will have significant temp swings.
