Just got my AquaC Remora!!

OK this is going to sound odd, but I have never dealt with this skimmer before... My tank lights are on from 11a.m. till 7p.m.(had to cut it down due to algae) and my skimmer is working really good, except now it pretty much shuts down at night. Any idea's as to why that would be? Might be a no briner to some but I had that prizm deluxe on some of my other tanks and it foamed pretty much 24/7. Was not going crazy but was still producing skimmate. This thing just stops foaming at like 8 or 9, then when I wake up it's up and foaming again. Any clues or am I missing something obvious?

 

hmm that does sound odd!! I've never had that happen to me before!!

 

When do you feed? I noticed with mine that it usually takes the skimmer an hour or two to catch up again after food is introduced.

 

they are great skimmers...run it with ro/di water first to remove any oil on it from the manufacturer
