Ok, so rewind back to last week. Picked up 2 Damsels; one navy blue and a white one with a yellow line on its back. Put them in my 30, no other fish are bothered and vice versa. I see the yellow lined one lightly nipping at my green star polyed...no big deal. 4-5 days later the poly is barely opening and the Damsel is still bothering it. I realize these things aren't as reef safe as I thought. Fast forward to today. The GSP is not opening at all and I realize I have to get rid of the Damsel. Took about 3-4 hours but I finally got him and put him in my sump. Now, for the GSP. The purple mating is not brittle or falling apart but there is a section on the edge that is easily lifted from the rock with little force. Seeing as Ive never tried to ift it from the rock, not sure if this is normal. My question is, is the GSP a goner seeing as its one of my favorite corals?

No it should be fine, if your are worried pull it out and put some super glue gel on the part that is not on the rock and that will take care of it. GSP is super hardy.

Does the fact that the Damsel may have nipped all of the polyps, do you think it will still recover?

GSP - its as hardy as can be
it grows like a weed as does a Kenya tree
off all the corals we have in our tank
the GSP survival you can take to the bank
so dont worry for now, no dont have a cow
give it a few days and you'll be like, Oh Wow

for some its a weed, it grows at such speed
The Damsel regrets his mischevous deed
it caused so much worry and trouble and strife
if you dont like my poem, blame pks4life

    LOL! That was great Steve!

Yes, I agree with all the others, the GSP should be fine after a couple of days.
