The trawler, the Diasan Shinsho-maru, capsized off Chiba`as its three-man crew was trying to haul in a net containing dozens of huge Nomura's jellyfish.
Each of the jellyfish can weigh up to 200 kg and waters around Japan have been inundated with the creatures this year. Experts believe weather and water conditions in the breeding grounds, off the coast of China, have been ideal for the jellyfish in recent months.

Huh, that's interesting. So were they just trying to pull in too big of a load and that's what caused the boat to sink? I wonder what they do with all of those jellyfish, do they eat them or what?

You would need a frat party's kegger worth of urine to extinguish those stings.

It was probably a dolphin or whale disguised as a jelly.

They deserve it just for trawling and ravaging the Ocean floor. That's enough though, I'll save it for the Environmental forum.

Yes. They will more than likely eat them. Jellyfish is a delicacy over here. They pretty much just cut it up and serve it with vinegar in a kinda jellyfish sushi way.

My gf has tried it. She said it tasted like salt and vinegar flavored jelly. Hmmmm go figure. (shes not too bright bless her :D)
