I have a hairy hermit crab (pictured below) that I do not know where it came from or if it is reef safe or not. I am assuming it got mixed up amongst other hermit crabs when it was purchased. Recently, it appears that something in my tank has been eating new coral frags.

I would like to know if anyone knows what type of hermit crab this is, if it is reef safe, and if it looks like it has been eating the coral frags.

totally agree - very cool looking which probably means not reef safe :( but I'd keep him
