Is this "Black Onyx Clownfish'?

    I went to my LFS today, he say these are Black Onyx clownfish. Is about 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch. So I pick up a pair for $60. So, it's a black onyx?

    Thank, it only 1/4 to 1/3 inch. The eye is mostly black. But it such a small size now, will the eye change later?

    I'd say its simply too early to tell. hope you didnt get ripped off.

    BTW black ice and a black onyx are two completely different clowns

    I hate to tell you, but those look like normal occy clowns to me. Black Onyx clowns would have a lot of black on them in the middle where the orange is. You just do a quick google image search to see what I am talking about.

    Most breeders wont sell their fish until they are at least 1" in size. What are you feeding these little guys and how are they eating?

    I hate to agree with sticksmith but I'd say you got some average Occ.
    Here's my pair, I paid more than $60, a lot more for this pair.

    But even pics of fry I've seen that are as young as 24 PHD the black is showing.
