    i came home from work today and noticed that my chocolate chip star fish was on my derasa clam, just on the side of it, and the clam is still open, not really paying the starfish any atention, but is this an issue? TIA

    Yes. Chocolate Chip Stars are not reef safe. They'll eat clams, amongst other things.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Big time, that is what a lot of star fish eat, bi-valves. Not reach safe.
