I am looking at the tank tonight and notice this thing.. My wife and I think it's a snail without its shell but not sure and not sure if I should remove it while I know where it is and can catch it... It's all black... Any advice is appreciated.. [IMG]

It's not in a place I can actually get to but right now.. It's up in so zoa's... From the pics when searched stomatella it looks just like it... Is it eating the zoa's? Quick info I read on them said they were harmless and good

I'd guess stomatella too, but make sure that it isn't a flatworm, there are black flatworms and it is a bit hard to tell from the picture.

Do flat worms get that big? It's the diameter of a nickel and about 1/2" thick.. We thought it was snail without shell but really looks like the stomella pics.. Just wish it hadn't camped out in the Zoas so long as that made me uneasy

looks like a flatworm to me, but agreed hard to tell in the pic. could be a stomatella

I've had one (flatworm) in my tank for years - have only seen it twice since 2008.

As far as I know, it has not caused any problems. I have a pic of one in my rock work somewhere on 3reef. Really depends on the exact species.

I'd only worry about it if you know its eating zoas or something.
