Sell the rock with the GSP and use the proceeds to buy new rock?

    Similar experience from me
I had a large colony purchased on a rock, that was placed on larger rock
I tried moving the coral last week, when I finally managed to pry it off the rock, Im left with a Monks haircut of GSP on the larger rock
doing this did make it easy to get underneath the matt on the resulting ring of GSP and I was able to peel that section away

    GSP donut anyone?

it's pretty much on one rock, just starting to connect on a nother (hence my alarm).

the rock it is on is the biggest in the tank at the foundation of my structure. the entire thing has to come down to remove this rock. which is surrounded by solidified cc substrate.

pulling this rock... it's going to release some serious nasty. i just know it.

if i could pull the rock... peeling the gsp off is no biggy... I just really don't want to stir up this substrate.

I just went through the same issue, and so-far this has worked. I watched a you-tube video on how to frag--they showed just cut out the piece, and peel it off.......Yeah right. It would not peel. Not even with a razor blade, so I just scraped the surface with the blade on the part I did not want to grow, and so far, no life showing back up.

You could also try boiling some RO/DI water, and firing it through a syringe at the spots you want it off of. I did that on the remnance that was left on the rock from the xenias I fragged.

you think a frag of GSP would survive a regular 3 day mail trip ?

I know a frag of GSP can stand a 2 week visit to the back of my rock work
a meeting with the end of a syphon tube, a fast journey into a bucket, being scooped out of bucket by a 7 year old, and placed back in the tank

following day - some polyp extension
3 days later - all the polyps extending

so yes 3 days in the mail would not be a problem IMO
