    I have a home water filter that is supose to be ro water is there any way for me to tell

    I would buy a tds meter and test it.

    also, try testing it for phosphates and nitrates. if you dont have the kits take some water to an LFS and see what they come up with.

    What brand and model is it? How is it configured, by that I mean how many housings does it have and how are they oriented?

    The simplest way to tell is with a TDS meter but not every one has one of these. Phosphates and nitrates are not the best indicator as RO is not all the effective on either, it takes final DI to really get both.
