    A lot more than salt is involved, but for the money IMO you can not beat I/O. Yes there are more expensive salts with higher values of magnesium and trace elements, but I/O grows corals just fine.

    Wow that made me chuckle.;DUsed IO/RC for over 20 years.Still waiting for a bad batch.

    Yeah he told me that IO was made in the same plant as all other salts except TM and they do not have the proper elements.

    +1, I am an instant ocean user too.

    There is no reason to believe that trace elements that are inflated beyond natural sea water is beneficial to us. And IO is a very very close match to NSW. It has no weird additives. It does come a little low on Mag and Cal, but it's easily dosed up and doing that makes it the best salt on the market IMO.

    I believe my Red Sea Coral Pro salt container said its manufactured in Israel.

    I've always used IO/RC but I recently picked up a 175 gal bucket for CHEAP during a 50% off sale and I've gotta say, it mixes WAY better, it even smells better. I'm very happy with it over the IO/RC...

    what is the difference between instant ocean and reef crystals?

    i am pretty sure my salt say Instant ocean reef crystals. I thought I/O and R/C was the same thing?
