Good idea for a thread gras:thumbs_up!
These pics are after a pretty major renovation today. I'll edit and change them later after everything is opened back up.

    Filtration.
CPR aquatics wet/dry with integrated skimmer. Bio-bale/balls removed and replaced with l/r. Live Rock. Refugium with sand, chaeto. And I have never used chemical filtration in my tank once. I also don't use filter socks or sponges for mechanical(skimmer only). It's been set-up almost 2 years.

    Okay- I wanna play:
    HISTORY:
I have never owned a fishtank of any kind. Inherited the tank MAY 2008, from a friend moving to Florida. It was basically a FOWLR with one small colt coral. Moved tank and inhabitants from 10 miles away, teardown to setup took 2 hours. Lost one fish. Bought a bunch of books. Got on 3reef.
Managed to kill a long-spine sea urchin (he starved). Then had to give back a hermit crab that grew to jumbo proportions (he didn't starve!). Thought I could handle some corals, went shopping! Lost a leather and a half of a frogspawn. Threw a hissy fit. Water change, test, water change, test... slow down... enjoy what you have.
    CURRENT INHABITANTS:
    Foxface rabbitfish
    Lemon peel angel
    2 blue Tangs
    Maroon clownfish
    Lawnmower blennie
    Diamond goby
    A really cool starfish
    Colt coral
    Zoas
    Toadstool leather
    Frogspawn
    Knobbly mushroom
    TANK SPECS:
    110 Wave front
    Some live rock
    Some sand
48" Coralife Aqualite Pro (MH, CF, LEDs)
Protein skimmer, sump, all sorts of tubes and hoses and cords and stuff in the stand
**BTW, all the residents showed up to get their picture taken!**
