im cycleing tank now

    soo im cycling the tank now i did add start smart to it and well it seems to have kicked started everything

    my reading are
    ammonia 2.0
    nitrites 0
    nitrates 20

    i thought nitrates didnt come till after the cycle thats how it was the last time i cycle a tank, but this is the first time i used a bottle of bacteria so maybe thats it.

    i also put in a bag with some frozen food, a mix of squid,muscels, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, garlic, pink shrimp
    plan on leaving in there till 2morrow and see how the cycle goes from there.

    im just trying to be as safe as possible since this will be my first reef tank, and not fowlr
