Predictably, evolved won! Congrats to him!
Right, I already know what this is, but I wanted to see if you guys could figure it out. These fish are great, and rarely enter the hobby (speculated based on little online info/never seen one before), but are one of the best looking Cirrhilabrus out there. I'll post a hint and some care info on it each day. Good luck!

You give me 2 top down shots? Pfffft.

Based on the description and coloration, at least what I can see:

    Cirrhilabrus earlei

    How'd I do?

Again, you have a red wrasse, but it ain't the right red wrasse.
Sorry Evolved, I can't afford an earlei wrasse anyway.
    Keep trying!

My second thought, and certainly more affordable, would be:
    Cirrhilabrus tonozukai

Another potential canadate (depending if your pockets are moderately deep ;)) would be:
    Cirrhilabrus johnsoni

A picture of a red fairy wrasse is pretty generic. There's few I can rule out based on the longitudinal lines on top of it's head, but the only real clue I have to work on is: "rarely enter the hobby". You best not be lying :p

    Also:

I could argue an earlei is the only Cirrhilabrus which satisfies that claim. :grin2:
