    anyone know what coral this is
    Ive googled Galaxia, and Pavona, and Turbinara
    but cant find an exact match for it

    looks like astreopora to me, could also by cyphastrea but im more leaning toward my first guess

    Could be leptastrea, goniastrea or similar corals from the faviid family.

    From all your descriptions Astreopora looks like the best match so far. But its difficult to say for sure as is equally difficult to find any quality photographs of astreopora.
