20160224_174928.jpg 20160224_174926.jpg Hi Guys. I picked up a mat of Green Star Polyps yesterday and noticed 2 weird critters on it while dipping. I've never had Majano before but one of them looked like a majano(maybe a ball anenome from what I found?) and it detached itself while in the dip. Easily disposed of.

There is also another thing on there that I'm not sure about. Could it be a weird Zoa or something else? The tenticles are pointy, not rounded like most Zoas. It is also greenish/fluorescent, so I don't think its aiptasia.

    Any guesses? Thanks!

Sorry, picture is not great. I'll try to get a better one later today

that's a tough one, it looks like it could be a paly - a closer photo might help

Yeah, the longer tentacles are more paly-like. I'll get a better picture up when I get home.

Looks like a paly to me too, they come in on soft coral colonies ever so often. Aiptasia X takes care of them oddly enough.

I added more photos. Hopefully this makes it easier to ID. Are there palys that have centers that look dull like that?

Some years ago I was sooo happy when I bought a rock with zoas and I saw everywhere in my tank tiny, interesting creatures.... Few weeks later, after all my zoas vanished I found the reason and I learned about zoa nudies. Since then I keep a spear (sharp wooden stick) and a lemon next to me. I shoot first and ask later :D

Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I think I'm going to blast it with some aiptasiaX later tonight. I've never had palys before but from online pictures, it looks like paly tentacles are always curved back. Kind of like eyelashes. This thing in my tank always has the tentacles pointing upwards. It's not aiptasia, that I'm sure of. From the look of fit, it doesn't look like a Majano either.
