I tried the garlic thing but I used pure garlic oil from a health food store and i soaked some flake in it and they ate it all but my tank and living room smelled pretty bad (like garlic) for the rest of the day , so i stoped using it , but maybe ill start using it again.

 

From what I have read about garlic treatments the garlic actually strengthens the fishes natural slime coat and therfore makes the fish less susceptible to Ich. This will of course work quite well until one day something happens and the fish get stressed ( refer other post )

It is my belief that there is only one way to get rid of Ich and that is to isolate the animals ( fish etc ) in another tank and let the infected tank go through a period longer than the life cycle of the Ich parasite.
