Can Ich live in 52deg water? I have all my fish is QT tank for the past 3 weeks to treat Ich. I had a heater issue when they were out and the water dropped to 52deg. Can the Ich still be present in the DT tank after being that cold for 3 days?

Lower temps make them dormant.... to erupt when the tank is warmed back up. The lowest documented temp in which they were found was 57 degrees. The lowest study temp in which they were witnessed to reproduce, was 60.

Three days doesn't do anything for the timeline of Ich, no matter what the treatment plan.

Yes, his temp problem was in the DT, but the fish were absent (in QT). :)

Correct....I was just seeing if the ich would have been gone b/c of the heater proplem. Im glad that heater proplem happened while they were out.

I guess I will just keep them in the QT for another 4 weeks:(

We heat the house with wood and that part of the house is a addition. There is a wood stove in there we just didnt light it that day. Here is cleveland the weather hasent been that cold at all until this past thursday, so I turned the heat on in that part of the house. So far this winter my house hasent gone down past 65 and the tanks were ok.

The reason the tank went that low is b/c the heater broke and the controller said it was still at 79 and it actually was 52.
