Specs: standard 15g, leather, xenia, frags: zoa frags, 3 ricordia, 1 hairy mush, 1 sm duncan, 1 sm dendro, 1 sm hammer.

    I currently run 1 par38, 50/50 10,000k, 5 white, 5 blue, 2 uv
    9" from surface,

The light is good, my zoas are spreading, xenia growing(dah!), leather wow- its grown.

I find the light is very white and it doesn't brighten the whole tank. I think 1 bulb is more suited to 12g square and less.

I want to upgrade to full spectrum, i like more blue but I'm not sure what choice is the best for the standard 15g?

I don't have a lot of money so I can't buy the best.

I would have to build a light?

Thats not something I would do.

    Dimensions are 24x12x12

If your tank is doing good for now then I'd leave it be until you can afford a good quality light. Skimping on lighting will just cause you to spend more money in the long run. A hydra 26 would do great on your tank.

Thats the plan. Right now I'm trying to figure out the best option for my budget.
Unfortunately, I don't work so I won't ever be able to spend over $300 cdn.

The main issue is deciding what would be the better option for a non square tank.

I could add a par 30 or get a whole new fixture. Leds confuse me.

The issue is the par38 really only provides good light in the centre of the tank. I find most corals pointing in the direction to the middle.

DSC reef and a couple other people on here talked me into to waiting, I wanted something cheaper and now. Lol.... But like DSC stated I held out and bought me a AI Prime, I love this light! It's awesome, it packs a huge punch and it's very small and affordable, in my opinion you will not find a light out there that will offer what thus light does for the price.

Will 1 work for a standard tank?
My par38 would be good on a square tank but my 15g isn't square
