i think i might have found nitrate problem!

    i got a aquac remora pro skimmer hooked up last night to my 55g (which has been having nitrate and phosphate problems for a while now) and look at collection cup from the first 20 hours of operation! :D

    They dont remove nitrate, but they do remove organic nitrogen containing crud, that would eventually break down into ammonia then nitrate.

    So having a protien skimmer slows the buildup of nitrate, but wont remove what is already there.
