I have a 50g reef tank I started a few months ago. I started with button polpys, mushrooms, and slowly added finger leather, leather colony, and a toadstool. But my last piece was an open brain I got about two weeks ago. It does not look good. It is starting to become bleached or it appears to be dying. I am not sure of the right terminology to describe its condition. Can anyone help me? Is there a way to save it?

Can you take a picture of it?
Where is it positioned in relation to your Soft corals and your lighting?
Also what is your water temperature at?
Bleaching is caused by stress and your corals trying at a last ditch effort at survival by dispelling its zooxanthellae. Temperature fluxuations and lighting are the two biggest determining factors of bleaching!

If the brain is just bleaching you have a better chance than if you were getting tissue necrosis!
