This guy came on a zoa rock. Just wondering what kind of anemone it is and if it's harmful or not. Thanks for your help.

Might be a rock anemone but it is hard to tell from the pic. They rarely move if ever so would only be a danger to the coral near them.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It is an invasive type of pest anemone, similar to majano. I would give it the joes juice treatment. It will spread believe me I have had them.

I'll take Corailline's ID on this since she has had experience with them and the pic is a little blurry.

Please don't kill that it is a beaded anemone. I have 3 of them. They are harmless never move they do sting but so do all anemones. They are actually beneficial and several commensal shrimp live in them. I knew immediately what it was when I saw the tentacle structure.

Heres what it looks like full grown (color of course will vary)

if you dont feel like going out and buying something you can boil water then inject the boiling water witha syringe into the center of the anenome or the mouth of it

Not even in the same species/genus as a mojano. It is under Cryptodendrum adhaesivum. Please do a little research before telling people to kill their animals.
