i got this new fish help ID

    It's a target mandarin dragonette.

    And it looks very thin - unless that's just the picture.

    They eat pods, so make sure you have a lot in your tank and that your tank is established enough for the little guy.

    I see a mandarin in the picture????

    If that is the fish, they have challanging dietary needs. Most will not survive on the average fish food.

    Definitely a starving mandarin. You can see his spine and his ribcage. I hope you didn't pay a lot for him, cuz he's not going to make it long being that far gone. Sorry.

    thanks all. any suggestions on how to feed this little guy. i was reading that they eat pods but some may eat brine shrimp. should i get live brine? is it possible to buy live pods?

    You need lots of those. How old is your tank anyway?

    Only a few will eat brine shrimp and it takes a lot of time and patience to get them eating it. I don't think this little guy will make it that long, if he would even get onto the brine. He is incredibly thin.

    Buy a TON of pods right away to put in there for him.
