Hello people. so I added my hydor slim skim to my sump yesterday. I had to block off my bubble trap with my carbon bag to get the water lvl to rise to just the min working lvl of the skimmer but it worked lol . it has been running not even 24 hours and iv collected a light yellow in my cup. maybe its still breaking in. so do yall think I can get rid of my filter socks now..im kind of hoping so. and hoping the skimmer will help with this light brown slime algae in my DT. thanks

You don't neeeeeed a filter sock, but running a skimmer doens't replace one. Two diffierent filtration methods.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
To remove fine suspended particles. The skimmer removes dissolved organic compounds.

So you do have a sump to move that hell raiser dottyback to?

    Cool on the skimmer.
