    Galaxia is the coral I couldn't think of the name the other day! Sorry, random comment. That extension is pretty amazing swiss!!

    and thats why I got rid of my galaxia. One of the most aggressive corals I have ever had. Mine would extend a single sweeper tentacle at night up to 6 inches and smoke the crap out of surrounding corals.

    Yeah.. Not sure if it feeds through that tube.. but like said above it's a feeler that it extends out to keep other corals from growing close to it. It will kill pretty much everything it touches.
    That doesn't look like the galaxea I had. Must be a different variety.

    Lol well around it i have a couple large lavender mushrooms that are still out of its reach, a finger coral who is also out if its reach and half beat up gorgonia (if im correct).

    Unfortunately, Galaxia is only one of the many species of LPS corals that utilize long sweepers. Pretty cool to see it, though. Beautiful shot too, Jeff. :)
