Ok I will be seeding my diy live rock (white cement and aragonite) and a few lbs of live sand and rock, how can I tell my diy rock is seeded, and how much would you suggest to use to seed my about 40-50 lbs diy rock

Have you cured the DIY rock yet? Cementaceous DIY rock will leach compounds into the water that can be deadly to marine organisms, and IIRC, it takes about 6 weeks for these compounds to leach out in FW baths (I forget how often folks change the water, as I've never actually made any DIY rock).

Beyond that, 10 lbs of LR will work, and you can speed up the process by adding a bottled bacteria product (we currently like Super-Bac). Also, don't forget to "ghost feed" the rock tank while it's cycling.

Ah...OK, good. I've had folks kill off their tanks by adding uncured DIY rock to their DT's, and didn't want you to make the same mistake.
