Ack ! I wish I had time to babble on here- but I am running out the door. You will not be able to raise your calcium with your DKH at 16 – so that’s not really weird at all. Please read up on Alkalinity by Randy Holmes here: Calcium and Alkalinity by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com

What salt mix are you using? Did you 2x check your test kit ? I’ll be back on the board in a few hours and I’ll check to see if you got the advice you need.

one thing you can do if you haven't already is make up some water with your salt and test it for dkh just to see where its at before you add it to the tank.
also what size tank do you have?

yea i add it to my sump... i drip it in though

but you can put some in a water bottle and make a very small hole in the cap. then turn it upside down and let it drip in to your sump

Your make up water read 16 dkh? personally I would scrap that box of salt and get a new one. The problem is the salt mix. JMIO.
