How to keep Goniopora healthy.

    There are several species of Goniopora. Some nearly impossible.
    The hardest to keep and usually dies within a year is the Stokesi. They are the very common green type.
    I just got another goniopora. My new one is steel blue in color.
    My other is this pink with blue mouths. Maybe my favorite coral in the tank.
    I believe the blue is a djiboutiensis Goniopora.
    And I think the pink is somaliensis which has been kept for 5 years by the author of the article in the link below. Mine has survived 91 degree temps.
    Some keys to their success are phyto, cyclops, oyster eggs, and other small foods. It's believed they even eat fish poop and bacteria. They're normally found in turbid waters. They live off of zooxanthellae but grow much faster with feedings. It's believe that iron and manganese supplements are beneficial.
