    I know, it's a shame.

And his DVD player won't play a dvd from the states either from what we hear.

Now why would the Chinese be banning youtube? Any particular reason? too much bandwidth used on it at the offices or what?

Does anybody know what do Americans ban on the internet?

It has nothing to do with infrastructure or bandwidth. It has to do with the Chinese government censorship of what they will allow to be read on the Internet. They aren't exactly an open government. Remember Tianneman Square?

America bans child porn. That's about it.

    Communist country is my guess.

Nothing within the confines of the law unfortunately.

I'm not sure there's an apolitical way to answer that question. The Chinese government censors and controls what their population can see and experience.

missionsix had a thread going about this yesterday,

    http://www.3reef.com/forums/bucket/need-favor-3reef-89932-4.html

bogie had said that it was blocking things against the cpc (communist party of china) and anything violent, with foul language, or adult- content stuff.

There isn't any way not to explain it apolitically. There isn't any way to "spin" this. It's blunt and in your face.

I agree on this point. The fact is, the differentiation between the governments of China and the US (and any others) is one of ideology, and ideology of this sort is inherently political.
