i have a clown, firefish, pajama cardinal, and a clener shrimp. how often should i feed? I 've been alternating froz brine/flakes. I will be moving the tank to work in a few weeks & I will not be able to feed on the weekends. What would be a good schedule for them?
I don't like the idea:-/, but do you think they'll be fine over the weekend?

They'll be fine. I only feed twice a week normally (Monday and Friday). I've gone on a weeks vacation and not fed my fish (just ended up skipping their Monday feeding). Never hurt any of them. I've had fish live for over 7 years feeding like that so it can't be too bad a schedule.

flakes arent the greatest for phosphates/nitrates. if your worried you can buy a automated feeder machine.. drsfostersmith has them, run on batteries.

I don't like these. The one I have feeds every 12 hours & you can't change it.

I also had flakes in it. My nitrates went way up I can tell already, just looking at my sandbed. I'm doing a big water change now.

    I also see I am overfeeding.:-/ I feed 2 times a day. Alternate b/w flakes/pellets. A clip of seaweed every-other day.

Thanks, I read other things a/b ppl feeding 2x or more per day. I plain on trying pellets, i only use flakes b/c I already had it.
That feeder would be perfect. I saw one at walmart some time ago.

    Thanks

I also feed two times a day, and my fish eat it all. I can't imagine skipping a day!! But I have fish with high metabolisms - tang, angel, wrasses, anthias...

lol. :( I only have one fish. I didn't find this tank to be all that successful(compared to what I know now.) Though it was a good leanring experience as anew tank & me being new to SW. We didn't have much money when I started it. So... that's why I've got the new build. Hopefully it turns out nice. I've learned a lot since I joined the forum.
