A...............no. My skimmer doesnt have a venturi system, instead, it has a spray injection system. However, it does have a John Quest fitting which allows me to connect that air hose into it. Look at the pic insert with the red arrow.

What I am trying to decide is, is it wise to run on just one pump? And will it save me any $ in the long run in operating costs. I'm thinking maybe one pump with a backup on hand in case it fails.hmmmmm

The purpose of the air hose is to inject "fresh-air" into the skimmer rather than using the air that is in my house. Maybe I misunderstood what you needed for your skimmer needs. I did have a venturi skimmer once and it needs an air line that extents from above the water line to the pump. Luna

Now I'm really confused. If I understood the description in the link provided by Cat4wisson, then a spray injection system needs no air?? But you say you use air brought in from the outside of your house via an air pump.

    What am I missing? :-/

lol All skimmers use air, otherwise you'll be just circulating water in a skimmer. You know as well as anyone else that a skimmer combines water and air to extract the proteins in the water column. My skimmer has a spray injection, but it also has an air valve.
