How long should you wait after you use PVC cement???

    How long do you have to wait until it is safe to use PVC that has been cemented in your tank?

    Directions on glue will let you know when it is considered safe to run water through, it is tank safe then.

    I've had water running through PCV 2 minutes after gluing. But you might want to wait at least 10 minutes.

    if your talking plumbing, ive glued pipes and then 20 min later hooked them up and never had any problems. dont know if your actually supposed to wait, but i never have

    The can says 24 for maximum strength. Its for my sump so there isnt much pressure going through so im not worried about strength I just dont want it to hurt my tank. Its been about 17 hour.

    same here.

    If I can, I let it sit overnight before putting it to use, but I have had no issues with immediate (or darn close) use.

    One of the solvents used in PVC cement is THF - The longer you can wait for it to completely evaporate the better. THF like acetone is miscible with water.

    Definitely good after 17 hours lol I think I waited 5 minutes when I redid my plumbing. If I couldn't move it..figured it was dry.
