How long do you have to wait to feed a new fish

    So i might be getting my first fish tonight. I was wondering after acclamiting it to the tank, is their a time period of when were supposed to wait to feed them? Or is it ok to feed right after their acclamated?

    Just try a very small amount. He will eat when he is ready.

    Its not a bad idea to wait overnight to limit stress on the fish.

    Yup get him in, keeps lights off till tomorrow. Then try a little at a time. Some will eat right away, some take longer.

    ok, i'm taking a chance with how my water qaulity is right now, but at least i will know if he doesn't eat its because it's adjusting, or my parameters so i shall wait and see and hopefully the lfs has the fish and i can afford it :D

    It's always been my practice to to feed within the first five minutes after introducing a new fish. The feeding eases the stress and gives the fish vital nutrition to keep it healthy.
