Listen up! I would just like to share a personal experience with everyone that I think some might find helpful.

This past Sunday I went to the Lfs to buy a cherub angel fish. Got home, everything was fine. He ate well and swam/picked at the rocks. On the second day I saw he was covered in ich. What did I do? Pull him out and put him in a QT? NO! So what did I really do? Well, basically nothing. I kept my parameters stable and the tank healthy, I feed a vitamin rich diet with garlic, and I monitored. It fixed itself! 99.999% it will fix itself! In 3 days he was spotless!

Moral of the story: if you put a fish in your tank and it develops ich, please don't tear down the tank looking for the fish to put in a QT. More than likely you'll kill that fish and give the others ich. Don't worry about the other inhabitants, a healthy fish will not succumb to ich. Just keep the tank healthy an you'll be good to go.

    Thanks.

Good job! I agree with you, a hasty qt tank can be worse for the fish.

Wow! With 4,545 posts, I would have thought by now you know it is still in the tank and will come back?

Glad your fish is healthy but personally I would disinfect the entire tank and QT the fish a week or so after they calmed down.

Very nice. Why do people that post counts mean anything lol. He is ony 14 years old with his 1st reef tank. He still knows what he is talking about for the most part as well though.
