Mine has gone up in the last month just as the news has predicted. Electric is now around $50 for me.

What is yours? Do you remember what it was before the aquariums?

I wouldn't be too upset Matt. My last bill was $120. Which is great compared to the $200 bill of the previous month.

BTW, a 125 gal tank with 2-400 W MH and 2-96 Watt VHOs only draws $17/Mo.

This is by FL electric rates. What draws the most energy is the AC.

Another rate hike here. Lakeland Electric just announced $11.04 for 1000 kw
What is this California?? ( jk Matt, Bruce, Gresham and all you unfortunate people who live there) Just a small jab about last years rolling blackouts because some DOBOS messed up big time and guess who has to pay for it... Thats right the people who have to work for a living.

winter time is great becouse no a/c bill
the tanks don't use as much as you would think
winter time electric is about 90 for me with 4 tanks running all with high light and skimmers and so on
but the summer time kills me with 300$$ bills next summer all the tanks get chillers and i am going to turn the a/c up to about 79-80 vs. 75 to try to keep the tanks cool
the central a/c i have uses 4,000 watts but it does get to about 100' out here for about 2 weeks every year so you got have something with some seriuos BTU's

I have not seen any real impact with my tank...which is interesting when you consider all of the pumps, powerhards, MH Lights, etc...
