How do most people add coral to the tank?

Do you soak the bag for 15 minutes and then just place the coral in?
    Do you drip acclimate?
Do you give it a coral bath?

Do these rules apply for all/different corals, SPS, LPS, soft?

    Thanks!

How can I trust what you say since you are from MA? How do I know you're not trying to hijack my corals and set me up for failure?

just kidding!!!! I am totally not one of those yankee fans who rubs things in or gets into anything....I am as laid back as they come!!!!

Thanks for the replies so far!!!

I drip them for at least an hour and float for about 20 mins if they're from a local shop. If they're shipped, I do whatever the shipper says, otherwise they give no guarantee.

I float for about 15 min, put some of my water in the bag and then let float for another 30 min or so. Then I will put some more water in the bag and float for another 15 min.

Once the floating is finished I give all my corals a dip in Seachem coral revive (I think that is what it is called) to kill any nasty hitchikers that may be on them. I have learned from experience it is easier to take extra precautions than to lose a nice piece of coral or have red bugs take over your tank.

    Wowsers people!!!

    Tell me if any of you ever saw a thread where someone's corals are being destroyed by one of the following;

    Acro-eating Flatworms (AEFW)
    Monti-eating Flatworms (MEN)
    Zoanthid-eating Nudibranch
    Polyclad Flatworms
    Red bugs
    Planaria Flatworms
    Zoa Pox
    Heliacus snails
    Aeolid Nudibranchs
    Eunicid worms
    Gorilla Crabs
    Murex Snails
    Pyramid Snails
    and many, many more....

I quarantine coral and use the appropriate dipping method depending on what species of coral was purchased.

I should start being more careful, but I usually just temp acclimate, maybe add a little tank water then place in the tank.
