How do i get a dead snail out of the shell

    Yep that works well. I don't recommend doing that with your feet though... I tried it today but it just hurt a lot.

    off-topic FYI: a cotton ball soaked in ammonia works best for treating fire ant bites.

    Yep. It is actually the active ingredient in "After Bite." It is a heck of a lot cheaper though. After Bite is like $4 for .5 fl. oz. and ammonia is like $4 for a quart.

    would sticking your foot in a cycling tank with an ammonia spike work too? :) lol

    Divott - if you ever try that, we will want photos


    Leaving it works for me, but also removing it, boiling it and then using a toothpick or in posh circles a cocktail stick to remove the cooked snail from its shell would speed up the process of hermit crab re location.

    If you have an ammonia spike up to 10% it would probably work (although soaking your foot in ammonia is probably a bad idea). At which point you can stop calling it a fish tank and start calling it a parts washer or something.
