    1. Steves heatsinks are just as good
    2. Luxeon leds are slightly better than crees
    3. Both are great, if you want a pre made fixture look into the Razor or reefbreeders

    I didn't say Steve's heatsink was bad, just a lot less area to add additional LEDs down the road.

    I'll say they are not as good. The whole purpose of a heat sink is to disperse heat, that thats a function of conductivity and surface area. Steve's have alot less surface area.

    The number one factor in the life of any LED is heat (well if you aren't a noob frying them with too many amps)

    I'm looking into the Luxeon led's myself. However, I am more than likely going to run heatsinks, not just have a pair of dinky 50mm fans. I'm leaning towards MakersLED heatsinks if I can get them to fit.

    do the RapidLED kits ship with non-tin or tin backings? I heard some people really hate the plastic ones.
