I modified my hood last night. I built the hood about 2 months ago. Since I got my MH I have had a difficult time keeping the temp down. I added another 4" fan and a 3' inch fan. Now I have 2x 4" fans that blow air into the canopy, and I mounted a 3" inch fan on top that exhaust air out. My temp was hovering around 84.4 F during the day, it is now down to 79.1 F. I also added another moonlight on the left side, so now I have 2 moonlights( one on each end). I don't know if they do anything, but they look really cool at night. Here are some pictures:

I just recently did the same thing, i was having trouble with heat, and i just took off my glass covers, to get ventilation and better lighting. THe only problem now is that my tank is completely open and uncovered, so dust and stuff can get in which i am not to fond of. What my thinking is is that i want to build some sort of hood that can give the tank a bit more cover, but still let it be ventilated. And i wanted to make room in this makeshift hood to put on another 48 inch striplight, to throw 40 more watts onto the tank
